HIC Resistant Steel

Supplied in the main to the Oil, Gas and Petrochemicial industries, HIC resistant steel combats against the problem of hydrogen cracking. Carbon steel plates are tested and graded to ensure resistance to the industry wide issue of "Hydrogen cracking" in vessels and pipework.

Supplied from stock, the most common grade of HIC steel plate is A516  to ASME / ASTM standards and generally supplied in 60 / 65 / 70 grades. 


HIC Steel Plates can be supplied in:

Thicknesses: 6mm - 100mm

Widths: 1500mm - 4000mm 

Lengths: Up to 12 metres

  • Full testing and certification can be supplied to meet specification.
  • Full in-house profiling services are available from our group.
